Re:   Ferg-‐Flor    Supt.    Placed    on    Administrative    Leave

    Date:  Friday    November    8,    2013

In  the    last    24    hours    the    St.    Louis    County    Branch    of    the    NAACP    has    been    inundated     with  calls    in    reference    to   the    suspension    of    Ferguson    Florissant    School    District  Dr.     Art.  McCoy.    Currently    the    Branch    is    seeking    to    set    up    a    meeting    with    the    School     Board  leadership    to   get   an    understanding    on   what   the  “differences    in    philosophy”     are.

Statement  from    St.    Louis    County    NAACP    President    Esther    J.    Haywood:

“As  a    former    school    board    member    for    nearly    20    years    I    understand    that    Board     leaders  and    the    superintendent    may    run    into    disagreements    from    time    to    time.     What    is    not   okay    is    the    fact    the    board    has   not   shared  with    its    stakeholders    the     reasons    for    placing    Dr.    McCoy    on    administrative    leave.    If    it    is    truly    a    difference    in     philosophies    and    not    a    personnel    issue,    the    matter    should    be    shared    with    the    public     immediately    in    a    public    forum.”

For  all    media    inquiries    call:    314-‐389-‐1552    or   314-‐330-‐7410
